Terms of service
By Renting with Sarah’s Rentals you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. Please read through carefully and if you have any questions regarding then feel free to ask.
Payments
Payments are to be made to the bank account we provide you to secure your rental.
All prices are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) as we only hire out to customers based in New Zealand. Shipping will be calculated at checkout, it is not included in the dress price shown on our website.
Our shipping options are:
- North Island - Dress Rental Overnight Shipping + Return ($15)
- South Island - Dress Rental Overnight Shipping + Return ($20)
- Taranaki - Dress Rental Overnight Shipping + Return ($7.50)
- Rural - Extra Fee ($5)
Cancellations/Refunds
If you book a rental and pick it up or get it posted prior to trying on the rental, we will not offer a refund if the rental does not fit you or suit you. Please check the size of the rental or flick us a message if you're unsure before booking to save this from happening. If you are no longer needing the dress, or you haven’t worn it, but it was already sent to you, or you have picked it up, we will not refund you. Measurements of the length of the dress can be provided if requested.
We offer a refund if we are unable to post the dress to you due to damage from the previous hire or it not being returned in time due to delays with post. We do offer swaps and store credits in this situation as well.
Postal Rentals
As you are aware, it is out of my control whether the rental reaches you on time in regards to delays with NZ Post, but this is the risk you take with booking a postal rental. I post rentals always using overnight shipping and make sure to post them at least 3 days in advance, which allows plenty of time to reach your destination. I will offer store credits of the price of the booked rental (shipping costs will not be refunded) if your package does not arrive in time for your event, this is only if the parcel has been delayed. If you book a rental from Wednesday 2pm onwards for a weekend rental, it is at your own risk whether it arrives and no store credit will be given if it does not arrive. Although your parcel still has a good chance of arriving as it's overnight shipping, it doesn’t leave much room for any delays should they arise.
Returns
Postal:
When returning your garment, please drop it to your nearest NZ Post shop, it must be handed over the counter to be scanned. All garments worn over the weekend must be posted back before 5pm. Please contact me before you book your rental if this is going to be a problem, and you need to return it at a later time. If you book a rental during a week day (Monday - Thursday) please post it back the next day before 5pm.
If you do not post the dress back in the required time frame a $15 late fee per day will be issued until it’s posted back and if it affects the next rental you are liable to cover the rental price.
If you lose the return bag we provide, please send it back to the following address using overnight shipping:

Drop-Offs:
Please drop off the garment to the address we provide you. Outside the door there will be a clear plastic container, pop the garment in that.
All garments worn over the weekend must be dropped back Monday by the end of the day. Week day rentals (Monday-Thursday) must be dropped back the next day after your event. If you are unable to drop back the garment in the required time frame a $15 late fee per day will be issued until it is dropped back and if it affects the next rental you are liable to cover the rental price.
Cleaning/Damage
All Rentals are NOT to be washed, once they are returned they are washed by me. If I am unable to remove any marks/stains, and it requires further dry cleaning, you will be liable for this cost. If permanent damage occurs while in your possession that is unrepairable or stains do not come out, then you are liable to pay the cost of the repair to the rental or the full retail price of what the rental was purchased for. If the rental is booked for future dates, and it is to be cancelled because of the damage, you are liable to pay these future booking rental costs, as this is a loss to our business.
Pick-Ups
Pick-ups are located in Stratford, Taranaki, NZ. Please message me on Instagram or email to arrange a pick-up time. You can pick up your order 1–2 days before your event.
If you select pick up, that means you have to also drop it off, not post it back (unless you have discussed with me otherwise.)
When a pick-up time has been arranged, your rental will be placed in the clear plastic container outside the door of the address we provide you.
Try Ons:
Try-ons are available in Stratford, Taranaki. To book a try-on, contact us via our Instagram @sarahsrentals or phone 0276938060.
If there are certain dresses you want to try on or one in particular, get in contact with us before coming to your try on so we can let you know if it's in our store available for you to try on.
